Aromatherapy can be used in a number of different ways. It can be applied as relaxing massage oil, added to a soothing bath as a salt or oil, or used in air fresheners or diffusers. Aromatherapy blends can also be created as inhalants or skin applications. The goal of aromatherapy in stress relief is to help create an over-all sense of well-being. The aroma and a good massage can help improve an individual’s sense of well-being.
Aromatherapy essential oils can also help promote weight loss. The scent of vanilla-infused candles can be inhaled to reduce cravings for sweets. Patchouli can be inhaled to lessen hunger. Reducing snack intake and hunger will result in weight loss.

The mixture can be applied to ease away the aches and pains in the specific areas of the body affected.
For a natural approach to skin care turn to aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is used in skin and hair products, as well as facial products and moisturizers. You will even find essential oils in colognes and perfumes. If you dare, you can mix your own soothing beauty products.
When you are looking to learn and use aromatherapy, you will find that it is a good way to relax, unwind and rejuvenate your own well being. You will also find that it can be a good and interesting way to start a romantic evening with a special person. You are most probably a beginner to aromatherapy and this short guide will provide you with a snippet of what you can uncover; you will read through a basic, introductory article of the practice of aromatherapy.
First, it is important to learn guidelines in purchasing quality essential oils. True aromatherapy essential oils should not be confused with perfumed oils or fragrance oils. Unfortunately, far too many vendors try to pass of oils that are a combination of fragrance and chemicals as essential oils. True pure essential oils come from the essence of the plant and provide numerous therapeutic benefits. Fragrance oils may smell nice for a time but do not provide any psychological and physical benefits.
As you start to become associated with using aromatherapy, it will be a good idea to review a comprehensive aromatherapy guide or even take a course, so you can learn about the different details and learn as much detail as you can.
You will find that it isn’t difficult start learning and using the different aromatherapy oils, and also recognising which different essential oils are available and how they can be combined for maximum impact. When you are reading an aromatherapy guide you will begin to appreciate why there are specific guidelines over the use of essential oils and can then combine these for your benefit.
You will also see that some of the better essential oils will generally have lavender or camomile in them. This is because both of these help an individual to relax, unwind and sleep much better. If you are a person who wants to be energized and more upbeat, then you should look to include orange and grapefruit in your essential oil.
Be cautious though, as you should not use essential oils that are undiluted for any physical application. An essential oil that is undiluted for inhalation will be fine, as well as freshening a room, but intending to use your oils for an aromatherapy bath or massage must be accompanied with a carrier oil such as almond.
And, finally, you should consider it important to learn how to keep and store your essential oils. A good aromatherapy guide will have a section that talks through the way to store your essential oils and should instruct you to store them in dark glass bottle such as cobalt blue or amber. The purpose of these bottles is to keep the oil cool and you should then store them in a dark area. Also, having a wooden box to store and carry them in is a good idea as you can take them with you wherever you go.

You have probably been brought up to appreciate operations, your physician and that medicines they give you and surgery they perform is the answer to any of your problems. When we do this, however, we are indicating to our bodies that it isn’t important to us and that we are not giving our own bodies the time to heal naturally. If we look at the first symptoms we get and treat these, then this will be a good start in recovery. We can treat ourselves early with natural remedies and often cure a number of health related issues. You will recognize that your body will tell you the truth, which will come out in your own emotions and challenges.
When I looked at myself in the mirror I could see that my own emotional pain was a “physical art form,” and it could transform before my very eyes to cure a devastating disease. By the time I was 35, I was comfortable in my new clothes, home and car. There were a number of different large firms who hired me to help complex business problems they were going through, and it was common for me to work 12 hour days.
Then one day it was all over. I was in a specialist’s office being diagnosed with rosacea, an incurable, deforming, disfiguring facial skin disease. Treating myself like an infallible machine had caught up with me. The disease had no mercy as it continued to worsen for the next six years. I spent all my financial resources going from medical specialists to naturopathic practitioners, in my heart begging to understand how my immune system could heal and repair.
I believed in the body being in its own environment and chose not to take any form of medication. After I had spoken to over fifty doctors, I still found myself searching for the answers. I became determined in proving that there was something that could help me heal myself naturally, but after all this time I maybe doubted myself.
Once I had progressed into my 40’s, I could see my skin was worse, it was red and inflamed, and I had daily boils. I also found that the sight in my eyes was going and was unable to read drive and watch tv all that well either. Obviously, this had a significant impact on the plans and dreams I had in my life. I would come to realise and think, mostly when I was alone, that I sympathised with people who had taken their own lives because of the pain.
In the seventh year I met a Korean doctor who diagnosed me differently from all the others. The disease, he believed, wasn’t just on my face. My natural biological rhythms were no longer in harmony, and my face was a direct reflection of my being traumatized from emotional fear and stressed-filled organs. He noticed other symptoms of exhaustion including an internal, uncomfortable quiver and a knot in my stomach, cold hands and feet, varied body temperature, and shallow breathing with chest pains. My body felt lifeless and frail. He said I must find peace within, whatever the price. I hadn’t experienced peace or joy for years!
I started emotional therapy, first addressing the fears that had consumed me since my diagnoses, and then going further back into my past. I began to face my work addiction (workaholic: one who works often while physically exhausted and emotionally empty.) Denying stress and personal needs had become a way of life. My false feeling of worthiness and internal need to always be needed had pushed this addiction forward. I had a compulsion to stay busy and numb out, serving out of exhaustion had caused me to feel angry and resentful at my own behavior. I had served others for years at my own expense until my body as my friend stopped me.
After one year of sharing my painful story, crying and releasing my pent-up emotions and work addiction patterns within a safe community, a miracle took place. I healed physically without scars and my eye sight returned to normal. For years I had been on a healthy diet and exercise program that also assisted my body in this transformation. My miracle-healing story became my path. It was natural for me to go into the holistic field and teach people how to heal, prevent physical health challenges, and find greater joy.

Almost a year ago, I discovered a product called MMS. As with others who have found this compound, I found it more by chance than through what was actual research. In fact, my friends recommended I tried this product. I am trained in acupuncture, so I see a lot of “miraculous” products come and go. However, this is different, because MMS really seems to work.
My own situation is that I’ve had a number of small health issues for quite some time, meaning psoriasis on and off, and a low-grade gum infection that’s been persistent (I am 62 years old). These are minor conditions, of course, but I still wanted to take care of them, especially the gum infection, with an approach that was natural rather than artificial. Antibiotics did not deal with the infection as they should have.
Be that as it may, to cut a long story short and give you a brief overview on just how MMS works, my psoriasis improved by about 50%, and the low-grade gum infection cleared up within three days of my taking MMS.
The MMS compound itself is a relatively simple substance, being nothing more complicated than sodium chlorite – or more commonly known as liquid oxygen. Ok, this was nothing new to me, and by itself, sodium chlorite has been used to great effect for decades. But where the magic occurs is when citric acid is added in a set ratio to then give rise to a compound called chlorine dioxide – this I knew nothing about.
Upon further research, I find that a man by the name of Jim Humble had developed this product, along with its protocol. Whilst on an expedition into the jungles of Central America looking for gold, two members of the expedition came down with Malaria.
After many years of experience, Humble always carried stabilized oxygen on such trips to make the local water drinkable – and as we mentioned above, this is really sodium chlorite. Facing the chance of losing two friends, Jim gave each man a big dose of stabilized oxygen, and to every ones amazement, the two were well enough to sit up and talk after about two hours.
Over a period of the next several years, Jim Humble figured out what made stabilized oxygen so effective in some malaria cases, and it wasn’t the stabilized oxygen at all – but rather the trace amounts of chlorine dioxide After treating over 75,000 malaria victims in the field, as it were, Jim Humble finally settled upon a recipe and treatment plan that worked the best across a wide range of pathogenic stressors.
He treated over 75,000 malaria victims in the field, and finally decided upon the treatment plan and recipe that worked best across the most number of situations that dealt with pathogenic stressors. His solution contained a drop of 28% sodium chlorite for every five drops of citric acid. The solution sits for three minutes at a minimum, then is combined with water or another appropriate solution so that it can be ingested. When this happens, the solution is “supercharged” with an enormously anti-pathogenic but stable chlorine dioxide compound. It is incredibly antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral, but MMS is also very selective as to how it works in the body.
Without being too technical, the chlorine dioxide compound works because it travels throughout the body within the bloodstream, as most medicines do. However, MMS is different than most compounds because it is capable of only targeting pathogenic stressors harmful to the body while leaving healthy tissues alone. It works by stripping electrons (literally), sometimes up to five at a time, from organisms that should not be there.
I have followed up and spoken to many people about MMS, and even local doctors are beginning to prescribe this product – without making claims, of course, but prescribing it because its efficacy cannot be denied.
The practice of traditional Chinese medicine, also known as TCM, is a completely different approach to healing than what modern medicine prescribes. In fact, it is a tradition that is based on an entirely discrete way of thinking from the more logical and scientific approach to medicine that the western world has taken up. The intent of traditional Chinese medicine is to care for the entire being, not simply the malady. It takes into consideration the psyche and soul as well as the material body. The proper alignment of these three components of every person produces a balanced energy flow through the body which consequently results in better wellness.
TCM is an ancient kind of healing that has been utilized for over three thousand years. Recently, it has enjoyed greater recognition in the western world too. Nevertheless, it is still thought to be an alternative style of medical healing and hasn’t been commonly acknowledged by conventional medical practitioners.
There are eight different styles of traditional Chinese medicine, each approaching healthiness and healing in its own distinctive way. In spite of this, it’s not unusual to use more than one technique at the same time. The healing is non-invasive and by and large free of adverse side effects.
A few varieties of TCM are fully managed by the individual. For instance, meditation is thought to be a helpful treatment for a number of illnesses. Qigong is another system of wellness and healing. It’s an ancient tradition related to the passage of energy throughout the system. It also comprises certain exercises and adhering to a certain diet that includes a range of foods that help to promote well being.
Further approaches to TCM will necessitate the help of a trained practitioner. The intention of these procedures is to correctly align the body’s various functions. Chinese acupuncture is one of the more well known instances of this kind of system. Other care options incorporate the usage of herbal remedies. As well, there is moxibustion, which involves burning a variety of herbs. This is commonly employed in conjunction with aromatherapy.
No matter which method of TCM you decide on, you can be certain that the therapeutic techniques are a prudent and effective option to lots of present-day medical treatments. They are also perfect for preserving overall good health so that you don’t become sick as often. You will experience more vigor and mend more rapidly when you do have a health condition.
However, it’s imperative that you talk to a qualified practitioner of Chinese healing before starting any therapies on your own. And don’t cease taking any medicines that have been dispensed by your mainstream health practitioner without his or her approval.
After years of research, the main causes of tinnitus are finally revealed. Discover the causes of tinnitus in this article.
The nerves of the ear serve the function of generating electric signals which are received by the brain. The signals are originated by the pressures of the external waves of sound, that come in contact with the highly sensitive, small-sized hairs that are located in the inner regions of the ear. These signals are interpreted as sound by the brain. However, such smooth processing of sound by the brain gets interrupted in cases where the hairs of the inner ear are destroyed or deformed in some way. In such a scenario, all that the brain receives are abnormal noises, like the sounds of a whistle, a ring, or a simple whoosh. These noises are, in turn, transferred to the ear, as a result of which, the affected person gets to listen these weird sounds. When a person hears these strange sounds, in the absence of any likely source for them, tinnitus is what is affecting him/her.
There are certain triggers of tinnitus that are often mistaken as the actual causes. An open mind is required while analyzing an extremely problematic disease, like tinnitus, particularly since it can happen from several causes. As an example, let us consider sinus disorders. Such problems are not among the chief underlying factors of tinnitus. Rather, it is only a trigger of the disease. Among the actual, and most important causes of tinnitus is an elevated blood pressure, and this happens due to a wrong lifestyle. These problems can be treated only through the holistic approach.
Cause of Tinnitus: A Brief Overview
Excess stress-levels or a depressed state of mind: Tinnitus can occur even when one or both the ears is apparently okay, and medical tests also do nothing to prove otherwise. Such problems, brought about by excessive stress, can be solved only via a holistic approach to treatment, and adoption of a healthy lifestyle.
Benign Tumor: Also known as Acoustic Neuroma, these tumors often result in tinnitus as well. The cranial nerve that connects the inner ear with the brain, and helps people hear as well as maintain a perfect balance, usually bears these tumors. They cause tinnitus in one of the ears of patients, and the condition is also known as Vestibular Schwannoma.
Manieres Disease in the inner ear: When this ailment affects the ear, tinnitus can be caused. This medical condition is generally brought about by the pressures of a fluid that is present in the inner ear.
Accidents affecting the head and/or neck: If these accidents affect the nerves, patients can experience severe neurological problems. The proper way of working of the brain is also affected, and tinnitus problems can result.
Advancement in age : As a person goes beyond 60 years of age, (s)he usually becomes progressively more and more senile. This phenomenon is also known as Presbycusis, and can rob the affected person partially, or even totally, of his/her hearing abilities.
Constantly listening loud sounds : If a person works in stamping mills or forging factories, (s)he is forced to hear continuous sounds at extremely high pitches. Such people are more likely to develop tinnitus and as a result, hear sounds of ringing, even after their work-hours. The guns that have heavy bores have to be fired from the shoulder ” another probable cause of tinnitus. Also, when night clubs dole out band music at full blast, the employees of such places can easily fall prey to tinnitus.
Deposits of ear wax: If ear wax gets accumulated in the ear over time, it might cross the prescribed maximum level. When this limit is crossed, tinnitus problems may crop up.
Atherosclerosis: It refers to cases when deposits of cholesterol constrict the blood vessels of the human body. When the blood vessels of either the middle or the inner portions of the ear are affected, tinnitus can be a direct result. The inherent elasticity that accounts for other cardiac functions are also lost as a result. The affected person hears such auditory impulses as hissing or whooshing noises, apart from other pulsating sounds. Both the ears are affected in such cases.
A high level of blood pressure: This factor brings about tinnitus problems in much the same way as the factor explained above. When cholesterol, in high amounts, gets accumulated on the arteries, the supply of blood to the head and the neck gets reduced. This is the prime reason for the resultant tinnitus attacks. If patients opt for correct, and early, holistic treatments, these problems can be avoided.
Neck or head tumors: Such tumors put a very high degree of pressure on the blood vessels of the head and the neck. Also known as vascular neoplasm, these tumors can also result in tinnitus.
AVM (Arteriovenous Malformation):This process refers to erroneous contacts between the veins and the arteries and it can be a major cause too. Tinnitus, caused in this manner, affects one of the ears.
Cause of Tinnitus: Certain Medicines Also Play A Part
There are certain types of medicinal drugs that can bring about tinnitus problems. In fact, some of such medicines can increase the intensity of the disease as well.
Let is now look into some of the types of drugs that can probably be blamed for tinnitus problems:
Antibiotic medicines (e.g. Vancomycin, Erythromycin, Tetracycline, Bleomycin and Chloramphenicol).
Cancer-treating drugs (e.g. Vincristine and Mechlorethamine).
Diuretic medications (e.g., Furosemide, Bumetanide and Ethacrynic acid).
Formulations for treatment of malaria and certain similar ailments (e.g. Quinine drugs).
Researches show that aspirin can also cause tinnitus. This risk is particularly high when one consumes aspirin for a long period of time, and at high doses too. Such habits can result in the person hearing continuous sounds of ringing.
All the basic causes of tinnitus have to be properly detected, and then, treated accordingly. Tinnitus can be caused by many reasons and so it is a multi-factorial ailment. However, the conventional remedies do not find out what the causes of the disease might be, and deal only with the symptoms of the problem. Naturally, the relief that they provide are not of a lasting nature. On the contrary, the entire human body is deemed as a single structure under the holistic approaches to treat tinnitus. This approach advises the affected person to change his/her lifestyle, and also recommend certain medicines and other herbal remedies. The holistic methods find out each of the reasons behind the tinnitus problems, and correct the issues. Hence, it is hardly surprising that holistic methods work the best as curative measures for tinnitus.
Non-specific low back pan which persists for some time is a common presentation for various health care practitioners to deal with, representing a major reason for absence from work due to sickness. Research has moved ahead quickly over the last decade, making a scientific view of assessment and treatment recommendations possible which could lead to predictable benefits for patients with persistent low back pain. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) has just released a new set of guidelines in May 2009.
The first thing is to make a clear diagnosis of the low back pain. In non-specific low back pain the source may not be found but various diagnoses have to be ruled out, including tumours, infections, fractures, ankylosing spondylitis or other arthritic diseases. Reassessment of the potential diagnosis should be kept in mind as time progresses, and if a specific diagnosis is suspected at any time then investigations should be requested. Nerve root compression, often referred to as sciatica, can cause radicular pain in the leg and cauda equina syndrome can cause very severe pain and important symptoms. These conditions need surgical consultation.
The classification of low back pain has been traditionally divided into chronic back pain, sub-acute back pain and acute back pain. Chronic back pain refers to pain persisting longer than 12 weeks with sub-acute back pain lasting between 6 and 12 weeks. Under six weeks duration is referred to as acute low back pain. However, due to the variability of symptoms and the long term nature of many back pain syndromes this classification system is too rigid to be useful in the assessment and management of back pain.
Low back pain is estimated to affect around 30 percent of the population of the UK every year, with about a fifth of this number consulting their general practitioner about their back pain. In the past most back pain was thought to settle by six weeks but more recent research has shown that a year after their back pain episode sixty-two percent of sufferers still have pain. In those who are off work with their back pain sixteen percent are still off work at a year. The first month shows a rapid improvement in pain and disability but this is not much improved by three months.
The cost to society of back pain problems is high but modern figures are not available, with the UK market having a large expenditure on private therapists as well as NHS costs, including private physiotherapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors and osteopaths. When someone develops an exacerbation of their back pain or a new episode it is crucial to exclude non-mechanical causes. Older people are more susceptible to malignancies as is anyone with a history of cancer types with are known to spread to bone. A compromised immune system should raise the suspicion that infection is a possibility. Osteoporotic fractures are more common in those on oral steroids and in older people.
The risks of having low back pain which continues beyond six weeks and towards a year is that it will develop into significant back-related disability, high pain levels and a loss of the ability to work. These factors should be addressed to increase the chances of a good result. High levels of distress of a psychological nature, significant disability and reported high pain levels all indicate an increased risk of a poor outcome. Therapies for back pain are extremely varied and numerous although little solid evidence to back up any claims is available to guide the choice of one or another. NICE has decided to concentrate on the whole package of caring for this condition, applicable to many professional groups, rather than specific treatments.
The common therapies used for treatment of low back pain include:
Psychological therapies such as a form of cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and self-management.
Patient education via information either from a professional individually or in a formal group session, including written materials.
Education for patients such as group sessions, written explanatory material and individual instruction from therapists.
Manual techniques such as mobilisations, massage and manipulation.
Exercise programmes, either in water or on land, either individually or in groups.
This article is written in the spirit of informing those who may want to know about the long term effects upon the body for those that use MMS consistently. We all know that this supplement will quite often induce nausea, but many of us would be surprised to know that inflammation is produced as well. Inflammation in the short term increases blood flow to tissues in need, thus delivering extra nutritional support for healing to occur within damaged tissues and organs. This is fine and even necessary over the short period, but if the immune response is below what is required to remove invading microbes and diseased tissue, then this inflammation response becomes long lasting and thus damaging to the body. Inflammation has been found to be the driving mechanism behind many of today’s chronic diseases.
Chlorine dioxide works effectively to kill microbes because it’s a powerful oxidizer. In general, if substances oxidize within the body, you get a strong immune response. That’s why inflammation is often absolutely necessary during times of healing. Inflammation helps the body speed up the healing process, because it gives additional nutritional support to the area that needs it most, and also helps provide the avenue by which it wastes and other toxins can be removed. Inflammation can certainly be unpleasant over the short term, true, but it may be necessary. Unfortunately, modern medicine actually treats even short-term inflammation by trying to suppress it, too often. Many modern diseases that have inflammation as a symptom (and that would normally be short-term) in fact have this most valuable response thwarted by modern medicine’s propensity to suppress the inflammation response no matter what the situation or cause. Therefore, too often, the treatment suppresses the mechanism (short-term inflammation) by which nature could deal with and even annihilate the disease.
Chronic diseases become more common as we age. When chronic disease occurs, the body’s natural antioxidant defenses decrease, and using MMS for a prolonged period of time will usually make the problem even worse. Because of this, it’s a good idea to supplement what antioxidant support even as you consume MMS. You should consume your antioxidant supplements separately from MMS, because if you consume them to close together, they’ll neutralize each other or cancel each other out. For example, you could take MMS just before breakfast and just before bedtime, and then take your antioxidants more in the middle of the day.
This applies to antioxidants in the form of supplements, such as vitamin E, C and also B complex, grape seed extract, and coenzyme Q10. Foods that are rich in antioxidants such as berries, turmeric, polyunsaturated oils, Green tee, and fresh fruit are also best taken and consumed apart from MMS.
Ascorbic acid, or vitamin C, is a powerful supplement to protect structures sensitive to oxidization, like eyes, brain and heart. When you consume vitamin C, make sure you take at least one to two hours before or after you’ve taken your MMS, so that it is not neutralized upon contact with the chlorine dioxide molecule.
If, for some reason, you’ve overdosed on sodium chlorite (or someone you’re around does), you can mix a lot of clean potable water with ascorbic acid and then consume it over a period of two hours. This is the most effective way to neutralize chlorine dioxide. If you need further relief, you can vomit to expel what is left within the stomach after you’ve ingested the vitamin C.
Keep in mind that too much of anything is not something to be desired. It’s also true of MMS. So be careful, and remember that being in good health takes careful attention to many things, because it occurs in many different facets of your diet and lifestyle. Over time and with diligence, your body will naturally strive towards equilibrium, and allow your body to return to its natural state of health.
YES! according to the Thyroid Foundation of America.
Thyroid Foundation of America studies reveal that over 11 million women have a malfunctioning thyroid. It is believed that there could be tens of millions more women with “borderline” under active thyroid function who don’t even know about it.
Women ages 35 to 55 are most affected – during this time women start and go through the change of life – menopause.
If you suffer from such things as cold hands and feet or a feeling of always being chilled, headaches, inability to sleep, dry skin, puffy eyes, hair loss, brittle nails, joint aches, constipation,” fuzzy” thinking, tiredness, frequent infections, hoarse voice, ringing in the ears, dizziness, loss of sex drive, and weight gain, you may be suffering from an sluggish thyroid gland. Sometimes the weight gain is simply out of control.
Research is pointing to the fact that an under active thyroid might be the number one cause of weight problems, especially among women, in the US today.
A thyroid disease causes your body to use energy more slowly or more quickly than the optimum level. Hypothyroidism is the condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough hormones. Hyperthyroidism is the condition where the thyroid produces too much. The most common disease is hypothyroidism – not enough hormones – which leads to depression, high cholesterol, hot flashes, irritability, and palpitations, in addition to the symptoms listed above.
Optimizing your thyroid activity can help you control weight with ease.
Thyroid hormones control how the body burns carbohydrates and fats, because they regulate the body’s rate of metabolism. A low resting metabolic rate occurs when there are not enough thyroid hormones produced. Thus they affect body weight.
In addition to disrupting metabolism, thyroid imbalances also affect appetite control. Studies suggest that thyroid hormones may modulate levels of leptin, a hormone produced from fat cells that is believed to control hunger and stabilize energy levels.
When your thyroid hormone production is too low, you lack energy – affecting not only weight, but also how well you sleep, how much stamina you have for the day, and how easy it is to get up in the morning. Handling daily tasks is a hardship, especially when this condition is added to the stress and emotional mood swings associated with menopause.
There is more to hypothyroidism than just less thyroid activity. The thyroid gland produces less thyroxin (T4). The T4 must then be converted to triiodothyronine (T3) by the liver. T3 is the active hormone. The body must then effectively utilize T3. Any of these processes can be disturbed and lead to hypothyroidism symptoms. At a point where thyroid hormone levels are insufficient, the body’s processes start slowing down.
Blood tests are the only certain way to find out if you have hyperthyroidism because there is such a variety of symptoms.
Get your thyroid optimized and:
1. A gain in metabolic rate, thereby increasing number of calories burned.
2. Diets now work because of thyroid hormones are available to cells.
3. Less feelings of hunger.
4. Relieve other thyroid symptoms such as fatigue and mood swings.
